Photon complementary supplies to its customers pretty much all surrounding services, which accompany the product design and the manufacturing processes in its premises. Photon’s supporting business activities spread from special process- and procedure-certifications, over first article inspections (FAI) and check and declaration of CE-conformity up to assembly, setup and service at customers site.

Initial tests according to EN 1090-1

In accordance with our approval, we carry out initial tests for structural components and kits for steel structures up to EXC2 according to EN 1090-2.

Initial sample inspection

All new products are subject to an internal initial sample inspection, including a thorough conformity check regarding sketch and customer specifications.

Self-inspection

Each worker is in charge of a self-quality control and notifies this inspection on the paperwork. One principle is that no faulty parts from the preceding process are accepted and no faulty parts will be passed on to the ensuing process. We know that mistakes are human, but in this way, we prevent repetition. This is ensured by means of effective corrective and preventive measures, to which our employees largely contribute.

Final inspection according to customer specifications

During the project phase, customer requirements are implemented in our process. All requested and corresponding tests and inspections during or after production are scheduled in our work plan. All tests are carried out and documented by especially qualified employees.

High-voltage test bay

We are able to perform high-voltage tests in a suitable test environment. The tests are defined as part of our electronics development and implemented for each series.

Welding visual inspection according to EN 15085

Before, during and after welding in the regulated area (EN 15085), monitoring is performed by designated welding supervisors, as well as within the scope of the self-inspection, in the form of thorough tests:

• Visual and material tests of the welds
• Completeness check
• Compliance with the specified welding instructions
• Design compliance

Material testing

Quality control of incoming goods or during in-house production ensures a continuous check of materials. For instance, we are able to test the quality of our powder coatings and thus to ensure an optimal coating process.

Conformity declaration

Components for steel structures according to EN 1090-2 can be supplied with performance and CE conformity declarations.

FAI (First Article Inspection) according to VDA or PPAP

On request, we produce First Article Inspection (FAI) reports according to VDA or PPAP for our customers. All relevant contents are closely coordinated with our customers during the project phase and in the context of quality control.

Test certificates according to EN 10204

If needed, we issue certificates of conformity and / or inspection certificates upon delivery.

On-site installation

We offer any degree of assistance with on-site assembly, as well as a complete and independent assembly including set-up, installation and commissioning of the products. Of course, we will provide you with the technical documentation and the operating instructions – by default, all our products come with assembly instructions and the appropriate documentation.

Service contracts

Even after the delivery of our products, our focus is on customer service. Our maintenance contracts include:

• Annual status checks and functionality testing
• Battery care
• Remote maintenance / monitoring / updates
• Emergency service with spare parts provision

Troubleshooting

In our house there is an established repair process. You can send in defective components using our service request form. Our employees will assist you for service assignments.
