Photon sets another milestone in the European rail vehicle industry in the area of laser manufacturing. As part of the rail project from PESA Photon AG manufactures for Romania high-precision laser-welded side walls, which form the structural backbone of the future regional trains as central welded assemblies.
The side walls produced by Photon consist of a total of 14 individual components and are assembled into complex structures for three car bodies. After manufacturing in Berlin, further processing takes place at PESA in Poland before the finished regional trains will be used on Romanian routes in the future. This makes Photon part of an international value chain for modern and sustainable mobility solutions.
Robot-assisted laser beam welding for najwyższa precision
The manufacturing of large-format assemblies places the highest demands on Precision, process safety, and repeatability. Photon relies on robot-assisted laser beam welding and state-of-the-art laser cutting technologies for this. Automated seam guidance and precisely defined process parameters create stable, reproducible welded joints, even with demanding geometries and large-format components. At the same time, high-precision laser cutting processes ensure dimensionally accurate components with minimal material usage.
