Laser cutting or laser-beam cutting is a thermal separation process for sheet materials and three-dimensional bodies, enabling precise and fast processing even of complex shapes. The method is mainly used when virtually contactless processing is required. Photon has the equipment to work on parts up to six metres long. These processed parts are ideal for laser welding.
High efficiency
Laser cutting is one of the cornerstones of our manufacturing, and we can machine components measuring up to 6000 x 2000 mm. Thanks to the integrated shuttle-table system, the cut components are extracted while the machine is working. This reduces costs and gives Photon employees the ability to control quality and, if necessary, intervene during the process.
Best quality at high speeds
The positioning accuracy of 0.1 mm/m and the repeat accuracy of +/- 0.05 mm ensure outstanding quality at high speeds. This quality is a prerequisite for all subsequent production steps.
Equipped for a wide range of challenges
Several 2D and 3D laser systems of different sizes and configurations enable a variety of challenges to be mastered flexibly and fast:
• Trumpf TruLaser3060 with shuttle table (6000 x 2000 mm)
• Trumpf TruLaser5060 with shuttle table (6000 x 2000 mm)
• 3 3D laser-cutting machines, performance: 3000 watts to 5000 watts, table sizes: 1800 mm x 3000 mm to 2500 mm x 4500 mm
• 2D laser-cutting machine L5030, performance: 5000 watts, table size: 1500 mm x 3000 mm
Punching, nibbling and more
In addition, other separation methods (punching/nibbling, etc.) are used, depending on the requirements and goals, e.g.
• Punching laser combination TruMatic6000 FMC – 2500 x 1250 mm
• Punching laser combination TruMatic6000 FMC – 2500 x 1250 mm
